Medbestemmelse

Co-determination at NTNU is regulated through the Main Agreement for the state with the adaptation agreement for NTNU. The adaptation agreement states that co-determination shall be exercised through local cooperation committees (LOSAM). Discussion and negotiation matters of fundamental importance that may set a precedent for the entire NTNU shall be dealt with in the central cooperation committee (SESAM).

Local Cooperation Committee (LOSAM)

LOSAM is a local cooperation committee at the faculty level and consists of representatives from the employer, safety representative, and local trade union representatives. On our website, you will find an overview of the our representatives in LOSAM. Use your representative to influence what happens in your workplace.

The cases in LOSAM are either information, discussion, or negotiation cases. The parties in LOSAM distribute case processing, roles, and responsibilities.

Discussion in LOSAM

The purpose of discussions is to ensure that employees' views and input are known and considered before decisions are made. Budget proposals, vacancy texts (salary placement), staffing and business plans, construction projects, training measures, choices in the acquisition and distribution of equipment and aids, as well as re-allocation between salary expenses and other operating expenses shall be discussed in LOSAM.

Negotiation in LOSAM

Internal organizational changes (the organization chart changes, the change lasts more than six months and entails re-allocation of personnel and/or equipment), staffing increases, welfare measures, distribution of welfare funds, and area allocation shall be negotiated in LOSAM.
