Head of negotiations for Unio in the state sector, Steinar A. Sæther from Forskerforbundet, and leader of the Norwegian Police Federation, Unn Alma Skatvold, achieved success for Unio Stats' most important demands in this year's wage settlement.

On April 30, Unio reached an agreement with the state on this year's wage settlement in the state sector.

The agreement involves an annual wage growth of 4.4 percent, which gives an available framework of approximately 3.3 percent as of May 1. This framework is at the same level as the frontline sector. The entire pot will be distributed locally, after wage negotiations at the individual enterprise.

Head of negotiations for Unio in the state sector, Steinar A. Sæther, is pleased to have reached a solution in the negotiations with the state.

– There have been real, constructive wage negotiations, and that is positive. We went into the negotiations with demands for real wage growth and everything distributed locally, and we got these demands passed, he says.

The inflation rate for 2025 is estimated at 2.7 percent by the Technical Calculation Committee for Income Settlements (TBU). This year's settlement of 4.4 percent is therefore likely to result in real wage growth.

The next step in the wage settlement is the local wage negotiations, which will be held in the fall.

– The local parties have a great responsibility in the implementation of the local negotiations. We have great confidence that our representatives will manage that responsibility in a very good way, says Sæther.

Unio stat represents 36,382 members in the state sector, most of whom are employed in the police and in research and higher education.
