Amnesty International

Forskerforbundet and Amnesty International Norway implemented a cooperation agreement in 2010.

Amnesty International in Norway was established in 1964, and today has around 100,000 members and supporters.

Amnesty International

Amnesty is based on the idea that you - no matter who you are - can make a difference. Because when there are many of us who stand together, we can change the world.

The collaboration gives members of Forskerforbundet opportunities to get involved in Amnesty International's human rights work.

The collaboration is based on a desire from Amnesty International Norway for support for its ongoing human rights work, and a desire from Forskerforbundet to expand and formalize our commitment to human rights and solidarity work. Forskerforbundet has therefore found it natural to profile Amnesty as its humanitarian partner.

The collaboration between the organizations will take several forms. Forskerforbundet organizes researchers and knowledge workers with expertise in many areas that Amnesty may need in its ongoing work and in connection with major campaigns. Amnesty International, in turn, has investigators, informants and a large network of human rights experts and activists with whom it may be relevant for the members of Forskerforbundet to collaborate more closely.

The collaboration is in no way binding on any of Amnesty's or Forskerforbundet's members and elected officials. Every member of Forskerforbundet is free to consider their affiliation with Amnesty International and shall not knowingly or willfully become involved in any activity initiated by Amnesty.
